The City of Riley, Kansas, is accepting applications for a full-time maintenance assistant under the direct supervision of the Public Works Superintendent. The maintenance assistant will be assigned various duties necessary for the operation and maintenance of public infrastructure, utilities and facilities. Essential job responsibilities include repair and maintenance on city streets, snow and ice removal; repair and maintenance on city water and sewer systems, mowing City properties, maintenance and service of equipment. Applicants must be 18 years of age, have a high school diploma or GED, must have a valid Class B CDL with air brakes Kansas Driver’s License within six months of date of hire, must be certified or become certified with one year of date of hire in water and wastewater and should have experience in general construction and be able to operate equipment. Salary range will be based on experience and qualifications. Benefits include KPERS, paid holidays, vacation leave, sick leave, and health insurance. Must live in the City of Riley or relocate to within a 10-mile radius to the City of Riley within 90 days of hire. Successful applicant must pass drug screening and a background check.
